Who am I ?

I’m a chartered Counselling Psychologist. My approach is integrative, meaning I draw on a variety of therapeutic methods to meet each client - I believe that every person’s journey is different, and I tailor our sessions to what feels right for you.
Originally from Norway, I’ve lived in the UK for the past seven years. During this time, I’ve developed a passion for supporting people navigating their emotions, understand themselves fully, create lasting change, and work towards living more authentically.
Outside of therapy, I find solace in nature, particularly the ocean, which helps me to stay grounded. I love a good spin-class, and socialising with friends and family. My aim as a psychologist is to create a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where you can explore, grow, and feel listened to.

About Me

Experiences and Qualifications

I completed my doctoral training at the University of Roehampton and I am registered with the HCPC as a Doctor of Counselling Psychology.

I have worked with a diverse range of clients, coming from various cultural, and ethnic backgrounds across NHS, private practice, and charities. My specialist experience lies within adults experiencing low mood and anxiety; depression; relationship difficulties; OCD; psychosis; bereavement and loss, low self-esteem and body-image difficulties. I also have experience supporting clients and their families with cancer, chronic health conditions, and neurodivergent backgrounds. I have a particular interest in understanding the impact that living with a physical illness can have on mental health and well-being.
My work in NHS
In addition to my private practice, I work in the NHS with adults experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties. I am part of a new service developing 24/7 mental health centres, aimed at improving access to mental health support in the community.
I have helped develop new ways of delivering psychological support to reduce waiting times and have led group therapies, including OCD, emotion regulation, and hearing voices groups. I take a holistic approach, recognising how life circumstances such as finances, housing, and relationships can affect mental health. My work is guided by compassion, flexibility, and a focus on each person’s individual needs.

Open-Ended or Time-Limted?

I offer both open-ended and time-limited therapy, depending on your needs. Time-limited therapy is structured with a set number of sessions, often focused on specific goals, while open-ended therapy allows for deeper exploration at your own pace. If you're unsure which approach suits you, we can discuss it in our initial sessions and find what feels right.

Therapy

I offer an integrative approach to therapy; I draw from different therapeutic methods to best support your unique needs. For example, CBT, psychodynamic therapy, and person-centred therapy. Some people find comfort in a structured approach, while others prefer a more open, exploratory space to reflect and process. We willl work together in our early sessions to find what feels best for you.

Holistic Support
I believe in a holistic view of each person. This means that I aim to understand your health and well-being as a whole. In addition to talking therapy, we might incorporate mindfulness, breathing exercises, or gentle body awareness techniques to support your overall well-being.
Prices

£110 per 50 minutes sessions.
Concession rates might be available upon request.
Where to begin

I understand that starting therapy can feel like a big step, and it’s normal to have questions or feel uncertain. To make the process easier, I offer a free 20-minute phone or video call, where we can talk briefly about what you're looking for  and whether I’m the right person to support you.

After the initial call, if you feel ready to move forward, we will schedule an assessment session. This session allows us to discuss your expectations, the type of therapy that would be most beneficial, and any other questions you may have.

There is no commitment to continue therapy after either the initial call or the assessment session, giving you the space to make an informed decision about the next steps.

If now feels like the right time to get in touch, please email me or complete the below form and I will contact you.

I look forward to hear from you.

F&Q’ s

1. How can I book my first appointment?
You can book your first appointment by reaching out to me via the Contact page on the website or email me. We can then schedule a free 20-minute phone or video call to discuss your needs before booking your first session.

2. What happens in the assessment?
In the assessment session, we will discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, your goals, and any current challenges you may be facing. It’s an opportunity to discuss your expectations of therapy, the type of therapy, confidentiality, therapy contract, and any other details you wish to explore. There is no obligation to continue after the assessment if you feel it’s not the right fit.
3. What happens in the first session?
In the first session, we will build on the discussion from the assessment. You will have the chance to share your thoughts, feelings, and concerns in a safe, non-judgmental space. We might also set goals for our work together and explore how you can make the most of therapy. The focus will be on creating a foundation for our ongoing work and ensuring that you feel comfortable and supported.

4. How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions depends on your individual needs and the nature of the challenges you are facing. Some people may find they only need a few sessions, while others may benefit from longer-term therapy. We will review your progress together.
5. Are you seeing clients face-to-face as well?
For the moment, I only see clients online. However, this might change in the future.
5. Is everything I say in our sessions confidential?
Yes, everything you share in our sessions is confidential. I adhere to professional ethical standards and data protection laws to ensure your privacy. However, there are a few exceptions to confidentiality, such as if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, but I will try to discuss this with you openly.
6. What if I have to cancel a session?
I understand that life can be unpredictable, and if you need to cancel a session, please let me know as soon as possible. I ask for a 24-hour notice for cancellations to avoid being charged for the session.

7. What happens if you cancel a session?
If I need to cancel a session due to unforeseen circumstances, I will notify you as soon as possible and offer to reschedule at your convenience. I strive to provide consistent care, and I will do my best to ensure minimal disruption to your therapy.
